What do the prickles of a hedgehog really feel like? What do foxes eat? Do squirrels hibernate? Investigate these interesting questions and many more by taking a close look at some animals in the classroom with the guidance of our education team. We’ll provide a hedgehog, squirrel, bird and a fox in a special loan box from the Ulster Museum’s taxidermy specimen collection. This hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity for children to investigate animals they are familiar with, but never get to see up close. They can explore each specimen by touch and carry out creative investigation tasks to gain new and fascinating insights into local wildlife.
